Military Take-Over in St Pats!!

Students from 6th Year were given a very interesting talk on Fri last (March 9th) by past pupils who are in the Army Cadets and Air Corp. They were given some very good information about a military career and advice about how to access information on They were encouraged to research the possibility of a career in either the regular army, Navy, Cadets or Air Corp. The past pupils were invited to the school by Mr Cunniffe and are pictured here with school Principal Mr Colm O Rourke.

Leaving Cert Student David Leonard commented:

“On Friday March 9th senior students had the opportunity to attend a talk on the Irish Air Corps given by members of the Air Corps themselves, Lieutenant Paddy Doherty,

Corporal Diarmuid Corcoran and Corporal Graham Mc Keown all past pupils of the school. They all spoke to us about their experiences and careers in the Air Corps. They each gave us an insight into their respective sections, life abroad and the training involved. They also spoke about  their own personal development in the Defence Forces.

It was a great chance to learn first hand about the Air Corps and to consider a career that would not  usually be  considered by sixth year leaving cert students.”
