Senior Hurling

Senior Hurling

This week, journalist Larry Mulvany went to Mr. Breathnach and asked him what are the plans for senior hurling.

Q. Are there any Senior Hurling matches soon?
A. There is a Senior county semi-final next Monday against Dunboyne, in Dunboyne. If they win this, it would be a first county final in years.

Q. How did Pat’s get to the semi-final?
A. We bet Athboy Community School in the quarter final last Thursday the 13th of October by nine points. This was an unexpected victory for the Pats as it was expected for it to be an Athboy Dunboyne final.

Q. Anything else planned for the future year?
A. There will be a school cup competition for junior and senior hurlers together where the teams will be evenly divided with the same amount of senior and junior hurlers on each team. New hurlers are welcome to participate in the competition. There has been great turnout at training with 47 registered players and we are hopeful to continue this through the year.
