Rugby is a very popular sport worldwide. In Ireland, we have many club level teams competing, as well as schools rugby. Here in St.Patricks we have very successful Rugby Panels. We have had players featuring on the Ireland U-20’s team. The head coach Mr. Hourihan commented ‘lost a lot of key players from last year‘ and ‘this year brings a lot of young potential’.

This season St.Pats has been plced in Pool B , with schools such as St.Josephs Drogheda. Teams such as Templeogue College and High School Dublin could pose a challenge for the team. The captain for this year is Liam Carroll, with Mark Farrell as his Vice-Captain. Both captains play for Navan RFC.

The expectations for this year’s panel would be to get out of their division table, which will involve coming in the top to in their table.

They also hope to qualify for the Vinnie Murray Cup in January.
