School Tour to Tanagh Outdoor Education & Training Centre.
Some 2nd years traveled to the Tanagh Outdoor Education and Training Centre on Wednesday, 17th May 2017. The day began early with 26 students boarding a bus and no sooner had we left the school when we started to blast out tunes and to enjoy the chance to chill out for the day with our classmates.
When we arrived at the centre, on the Cavan-Monaghan border, we began some team-building exercises on an obstacle course with tug-of-war and races. Our next activity involved jumping through bog-holes and getting covered from head to toe in mud. The activities were like something from marine-training or To Hell and Back but obviously less intense and a lot of fun!
In the afternoon we got into wet suits and went canoeing on the Dromore River. We had the opportunity to jump in and swim followed by slipping and sliding on a mud-slide. After an action-packed day of mud, water and sunshine the bus was quieter on the way back to Navan having had a very energetic but a most enjoyable day out.
